HAPPY SPARKLE SEASON. If I could have Autumn and Winter on repeat the whole year round I would. I know, weird. But frosty mornings, hot chocolate, big winter knits and fluffy coats is my idea of heaven. Nothing beats a cosy winters day in, with the fire on, watching a film all snuggled up.
Since November has hit, a wave of excitement has seriously come over me. Everywhere I walk feels like Christmas. YAY.
However if you really aren’t a winter fan like myself here are some little things that can warm up your heart a little bit more:
- The Nostalgia
For me the millions of memories I have as a little one at this time of year is what makes it so special. All the family together, lots of food, drinks and laughter. I am such a family person and Christmas is the perfect excuse to get everyone you love together to celebrate. All the firework displays (although some were a disaster), sparklers and halloween pumpkins just take me back to being a little human, however the level of immense excitement still remains and I am 100% sure that will never change.
2. Celebrations
Call me ‘Summer scrooge’ but why are there no celebrations in Summer?! Winter is the season to celebrate. From Christmas and New year to Valentines Day, you’re never short of a celebration. I’m a host at heart and whenever there is a chance to celebrate I will go all out with decorations and festive fun. I’ll be sure to invite you next time but for now take advantage of the festive season and get your party hats on, it’s enough to melt anyones heart at even the chilliest time of year.
3. Food
Food. Simple but so very effective. A gal can’t eat salads all year round. Nothing beats a warm hearty dish on a cold and dark evening in. Homemade soups , mince pies and Hot Chocolate because “Summer Salads” just are not enough sometimes.
4. The Fashion
Even if you are not a winter fan. You’d be lying to admit you prefer summer fashion. Chunky Winter Knits, Walking round in coats that make you look like the marshmallow you toasted this bonfire weekend and all the hats and scarves one could possibly fit in their wardrobe. All the Autumnal and wintery colours of course also need a mention, Reds and Greens, Oranges and Purples and all the glitter and sparkles just make winter fashion better than any other season.
So if you’re not a ‘crazy about Winter’ lady like myself, hopefully this will make you feel a little more festive. Start decorating your tree early, get the Xmas decks out, start blasting out “All I want for Christmas is you” for all your neighbours to hear. Whatever it is that might make you feel a little bit warmer about the colder season, enjoy the celebrations, summer will be back before you can say Pimms and Sangria. But for now I’ll see you at Winter Wonderland.
